IMI CIB - Trade Export Finance Specialist

Scope and Purpose

 

  • Identification of business opportunities with regard to Trade Export Finance products
  • Establishing and developing new business contacts with existing and potential clients 
  • Advising and follow-up with clients and establishing the relationship 
  • Co-ordinate Trade Export Finance activities between the clients, Trade Operations and the other relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain strong relationship and regular dialogue with Head Office FI team to secure the necessary FI limits for the Trade Export Finance business.  
  • Liaise with and provide to Head Office data and reports relating to Trade Export Finance
  • Assist in day-to-day negotiation, handling and coordination of  TEF deals and relevant processes (including limit application, approval and execution procedures),  ensuring subject transactions (i) generate acceptable risk adjusted returns and (ii) are executed in accordance with the Bank’s policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Supporting the relevant teams with the onboarding and periodic KYC/CDD review of FI clients

Required Experience

 

5-7 years of experience in either Trade Finance/ Transaction Banking/FI Coverage

 

Competencies Required

 

  • Degree holder in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines 
  • Deal origination and execution experience in the Trade Finance space
  • Good  understanding of Trade Finance solutions and international rules and standards  governing documentary Ietters of credit
  • Knowledge of the international sanctions regimes, and AML/CFT screening activities
  • Strong MS Office & PC skills
  • Strong relationship and interpersonal skills 
  • Strong critical thinking & problem solving skills, with ability to multi-task.
  • Strong initiative and adaptability
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivated
