Scope and Purpose
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that comply with federal, state and NYC employment laws.
• Manage and review HR Compliance related programs and training requirements in collaboration with the Compliance Department including Code of Ethics and Whistleblowing according to company protocols.
• Conduct investigations and provide guidance on employment-related issues, including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation complaints.
• Manage employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
• Draft and review employment contracts, separation agreements, and other employment related legal documents.
• Provide HR legal support and representation in litigation matters, including working with outside counsel and preparing documents.
• Ensure compliance with all HR-related reporting requirements, including EEO-1 reporting, OSHA and other federal and state reporting requirements
• Create and maintain Human Resources related reports periodically that provide insight into key data points
• Stay up-to-date on changes in employment law and regulations, and communicate updates to management and employees as needed.
• Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, leave, disciplinary matters, performance management
• Manage employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees and managers
• Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations.
• Support the HR Team with the recruitment process for full-time and temporary staff
• Conduct employee pre-employment screening and acquire verification records for employee onboarding when required
• Manage the employee exit process
• Support the HR team with additional activities as assigned by the Head of HR
The salary range for this job offer would be $ 90.000,00 - $ 140.000,00
Required Experience
• Minimum of 7 years practical experience in a Human Resources function in an international financial institution/banking environment is preferred
• Experienced in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures that comply with federal and state employment laws.
• Experienced in creating and implementing sourcing strategies related to the recruitment process for a variety of roles.
• Hands on experience with various selection processes
• Proven success in conducting investigations and interviews using various methods (phone, video, email, in-person); strong planning and interviewing know-how
• Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff in a professional organization
Required Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge
• Undergraduate Degree with a strong focus in Human Resources; Labor & Employment Law strongly preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Human Resources with a minimum of 5 years managing Employee Relations or equivalent employee-facing HR function
• Strong knowledge of federal and state requirements concerning employment best practice.
• Extensive Human Resource Management knowledge, including relevant state, federal and New York City employment related guidance, to ensure the company's compliance with all applicable employment regulations
• Understanding of laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruiting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving know-how, with the ability to conduct investigations and resolve complex employee related issues.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to interface with a diverse, international employee population
• Practical expertise in drafting HR policies and procedures, and legal documentation.
• Capacity to exercise independent judgment with discretion while utilizing company policies and practices in line with employment regulations to determine appropriate action
• Ability to support the recruitment and hiring process is highly preferred.
• Professional and confident demeanor with superior analytical skills
• Must be willing to take "ownership" of projects and think proactively
• Superior organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with the ability to execute multiple, high-priority projects
• Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
