Scope and Purpose

 

The Risk Officer will be responsible for ensuring the execution of second-level controls in the areas of Data Governance and Reporting Governance, coordinating with a variety of internal stakeholders. In performing this function, the Risk Officer will carry out both independent assessments and collaborate with other second-level control structures, with the aim of contributing to an overall assessment of the capabilities of Risk Data Aggregation & Risk Reporting in line with the principles established in BCBS 239, identifying gaps and areas for improvement in the data assets under their responsibility, monitoring progress, and assessing the adequacy of the guidance and improvement actions implemented by the owners of the various data/systems/processes involved. Periodically reports these findings to the relevant corporate bodies and plays an active role benchmarking activities and regulatory reform projects on issues within its competence.

Required Experience

 

Minimum 5-7 years’ experience

Required Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

 

    University degree preferably in Economics, Finance, Mathematics or comparable studies.
    Previous work experience in medium-to-large banks or consulting firms, in roles, structures or projects related to the collection, processing and aggregation of information for the construction of risk or performance indicators and reporting thereof; experience in the use of innovative data analysis and processing techniques through AI/Gen AI solutions, as well as in the design of IT architectures and reporting solutions, are considered an added value.
    Able to analyse complex information, to identify the key issues and to propose solutions.
    Excellent written and spoken English. French and Italian as a value added.
    Ability to analyse and synthesise
    Ability to participate in complex projects, identifying the best solutions in terms of effectiveness and efficiency outside of defined frameworks
    Ability to plan and manage projects, defining and/or monitoring complex work plans, assessing the interdependencies and synergies of different streams of activity
    Strong interpersonal skills, able to interface with multiple interlocutors, each with their own positions, and manage conflict situations
    Collaborative spirit, aptitude for change and ability to adapt to the context as a means of achieving results
    Ability to draft documents (reports, presentations, internal regulatory documents) with a clear, precise and effective communication style
