Scope and Purpose

Overall function and main purpose of the position: Assembling and submitting written credit proposals/recommendations to the London Credit Officer in favour of new and/or existing counterparties belonging to the London branch credit perimeter, according to the Bank's policies and procedures, as per the request prompted by the London Credit Officer. Main duties and responsibilities: Collecting full sets of information (i.e. annual and interim financial statements, industry data, industry analysis / researches / reports / articles from, among others, Moody's, S&P's, Bloomberg, Credit Edge KMV and Brokers) for each relevant counterpart under examination (i.e. parent, borrower, guarantor, sponsor), with the support of the RM Team. Analysing each relevant counterpart's business model /profile. Spreading each relevant counterpart's last two (at least) financial statements and latest interim report (if available), as well as any Business Plan / Forecast / Projections under different sensitivity scenario (base case vs/worst case(s), if available, and so required) into the Bank's standard forms and formats, according to the Bank's procedures. Performing written reviews of each relevant counterpart's operating performance and financial position through fundamental and ratio analysis of P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow statements and peer comparisons, according to the Bank's standards and procedures. Thorough understanding and analysis of the structure of products (when required), highlighting any key risk mitigants and credit strengths. Communicating and interacting effectively with all the players / functions involved in the credit granting process (i.e. Relationship Manager(s), London Hub Legal Department, Product Desks, Rating Desk and Credit Officer Team). Summarising the Relationship Manager's request (i.e. new credit line(s), review(s), amendments and/or waivers of existing credit lines) with an effective summary, including a description of the collateral package, if any, and other relevant T&Cs. Attending (when asked) to visits, presentations events and bank meetings of existing counterparts and/or prospects belonging to the London branch credit perimeter. 

Required Experience

Candidate must have relevant experience specifically gained in Multinational Corporate Clients within a banking or rating agency environment, covering various financial products (Trading, RCF, T/L, Trade Products, etc). 

Competencies Required

 Degree or equivalent in Economics and/or related fields (Accounting, Finance, etc.)  CFA certification or progress towards is a plus.  Postgraduate is preferred.  Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required; fluency in Italian is a plus.  Strong team player.  Minimum 2-3 seniority years in Corporate Credit Analysis at major financial institutions.  Permission to work in UK. • Ability to construct financial projection models. • Comprehensive knowledge of principles of financial analysis. • Understanding of basic accounting rules and regulations. • Sound understanding of banking products and U.K. corporate Marketplace. Candidate must be professionally mature and possess strong communication abilities; be thoroughly analytical and organised, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure during peak periods.
