FAMI currently manages approximately €42 billion worth of assets with over 160 sub funds. FAMI is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland.

Scope and Purpose

 

Reporting to the Head of Global Equity & Quant Solutions, the resource will support more senior team members to screen for new investment opportunities as well as monitoring the portfolios managed by the desk. A very good knowledge of corporate finance, equity valuation and factor investing are required. A good knowledge of statistics or related subjects, such as econometrics, constitutes a strong plus.

The desk’s research process is fully internalized and is built upon a strong analytical framework, therefore the resource is expected to learn how to conduct high-quality equity and/or quantitative research independently and in coordination with other team members of different seniorities.

We offer the opportunity to progress in different fields, ranging from traditional fundamental analysis to the latest developments in applied academic research. Therefore, a genuine interest for scientific/academic research is desired.

Depending on the academic background and the skills demonstrated, the resource may be involved in quantitative research projects aimed at refining the investment process and improving the related IT tools. The desk has developed an internal software library in Python, which supports the efficient and timely execution of the investment process. Therefore, a good knowledge of Python or other programming languages constitutes a strong plus.

Required Experience

 

Minimum of 2 years of full-time working experience

Required Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

 

  • very good knowledge of corporate finance, equity valuation and factor investing;
  • willingness to learn how to produce original equity and/or quantitative research;
  • genuine interest for scientific/academic research;
  • at least a BSc degree in economic or scientific disciplines, with an excellent academic track-record;
  • proficiency in written and spoken English;
  • knowledge of statistics or related fields constitutes a strong plus;
  • knowledge of the Python programming language constitutes a strong plus;
  • a basic knowledge of Italian constitutes a plus.
