Singapore - Head of Operations

Scope and Purpose

- Manage all the Branch Operations Department units including: Loan Administration, Trade Office/Bills, Remittances & Payments,, Fixed Income & Derivatives, CDs & Deposits, Settlement MM FX, Trade Finance and Structured products.
- Ensure everyday smooth functioning of Operations Department, in particular:
   o manpower planning and performance appraisal
   o assigning job responsibility to all subordinates
   o monitoring the procedures are properly followed
   o supervising tidiness and operational efficiency
   o coordinating good communications among Operations Department staff and with other Departments
   o supervising, advising, instructing staff on the management of their everyday activities
   o acting as authorized signatory
- Oversees Swift incoming/outgoing message management
- Review daily report on the non-receipt of funds from Nostro Banks relating to Operations, monitor the status and follow-up actions
- Review of overdue items, monitor the status and follow - up actions
- Manage implementation of new products relevant to Operations Department
- Monitor the projects / simulation tests / drills organized MAS relating to Operations
- Handle irregularities and customer's complaints on operational issues
- Liaise with and give suggestion to management relating to operational issues
- Liaise and co-operate with other departments on operational issues and other assignments/projects
- Develop, update and implement the procedures and controls relevant to the Operations Department.

Required Experience

Minimum 7-9 years of experience in Operations with experience in Loans and Treasury Settlement as well as Trade Finance and Local Payment Systems. 

Competencies Required


- Bachelor's Degree required in Finance or related fields
- Fluent in English, Italian knowledge would benefit
- Experience across various Banking Operations activities.
- Knowledge of Incoterms and UCP
- PC literate with good knowledge of Word, Excel, SWIFT and Local Payment Systems
- Experience of banking accounting practices for each product
- Qualifications on trade finance and AML
- Proactive, flexible & adaptable
- Focused with strong attention to detail
- Organized and able to meet deadlines
- Competences in Loans and Treasury Settlement as well as Trade Finance and Local Payment Systems.
- Ability to manage a team
- Experiences in Operations with experience in Loans and Treasury Settlement as well as Trade Finance and Local Payment Systems
- Experience of working in similar role in a Foreign Bank, with Regulatory and Management reporting knowledge and ability to understand and ensure compliance with Bank requirements
- Experience in dealing with auditing is essential
- Able to engage with staff at all levels of the organization
