Scope and Purpose

 

The main goal of this role is to assess the creditworthiness of potential or existing borrowers and make recommendations to facilitate and assist the Head of Credit and the Credit Committee in their decision making process. A Credit Analyst should also be familiar with the various on-going credit initiatives related to the Bank. A listing of further responsibilities includes, but is not limited to, the following: • Prepare credit write-ups focused on financial and operational analysis of non-financial entities, as well as credit analysis with objective of proposing credit facilities; • Perform a timely annual credit and internal rating reviews on existing accounts and submission of reviewed file to the Credit Committee and ISP Credit Department; • Gather relevant information on existing and perspective borrowers: Annual/Interim reports, projections, press articles, information services (i.e. Moody's, S&P, Bloomberg, etc.), Information Memorandums provided by Agent banks, Investment bank analyst reports and other numerous sources available online and in association with the relevant Relationship Manager (RM); • Attend bank meetings, including roadshows when applicable, and client meeting for bilateral facilities; • Prepare credit analysis and proposals, including transaction summary/Company background and in-depth quantitative and qualitative credit and financial analysis, industry analysis, elaboration of financial statements, financial projection modelling, internal spreadsheets, internal credit ratings of new and existing account; • Make recommendations concerning the amount of credit exposure that is deemed prudent under current circumstances and according to ISP guidelines, and, where feasible, the structure of the credit facility, in terms of financial covenants, guarantees, etc.; • Cooperate with the RMs in preparing RM notes for credit proposals, credit periodic review, request for waivers and request-for-proposal; • Perform any other credit-related task as requested by the Head of Credit from time to time 

Required Experience

 

• Ideally 2-4 years of experience within the Credit Department of a large Brazilian bank or International bank engaged in Corporate Banking. 

Required Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

 

• Bachelor´s degree, preferably in economics, accounting or business administration; • Written and verbal fluency in Portuguese and English required; • Office Package knowledge required, Excel in particular; • Solid knowledge of the local Credit market and experience with financial analysis techniques, including financial projections. • Deep familiarity with Brazilian credit products • Familiarity with the banking regulatory environment in Brazil • Ability to focus on tasks and execute accurately and timely • Ability to work in a team and collaboratively with other front and back office departments • Strong organizational skills in order to meet deadlines.
