Scope and Purpose

 

The position is for a Newly Qualified Junior general corporate banking lawyer, to join the current team advising, under the supervision of the Head of Legal, the branch and representative office network of Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A., London HUB Branch Network. Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A., London HUB Branch Network encompasses 5 branches and other nominated representative offices and 1 subsidiary in Europe excluding Italy, however advice is given to both Italian and other foreign branches for certain types of business. Although the core business is corporate banking, the Legal Department also advises on other areas of banking law related to transactions originated from Italy 

Required Experience

 

We are looking for a Newly Qualified Junior General Banking Lawyer, that has studied banking law and experience a rotation in both a corporate department seat and a banking department seat in the course of their training contract 

Required Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

 

Qualified English Solicitor, preferably City of London trained. Acting under the supervision of the Head of Legal: - Providing legal advice to all business and non-business areas of Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A., London HUB Branch Network. - Drafting, reviewing and negotiating corporate banking documentation - for example, bilateral and syndicated loans (including documentation agency work), risk participation agreements, guarantees and indemnities, letters of credit, secondary debt trading documentation. - Drafting, reviewing and negotiating security documentation - for example, deposit agreements, account charges, escrow agreements and intercreditor agreements. - Advising on distressed debt, restructurings, work outs and related documentation. - Advising on insolvency and litigation issues. - Drafting, reviewing and negotiating non-core business documentation - for example, IT contracts, property related contracts. The ideal candidate will show a degree of initiative, a commercial approach and have good organisational skills.
