Scope and Purpose
- Map and Identify key Clients / Borrowers with the view to enhancing and targeting Intesa’s pitch efforts to arrange and Book-run Syndication transactions;
- Organise and coordinate the loan syndication pitch effort to clients alongside the respective Relationship Management team, Leverage Sponsor Coverage and Structured Finance Teams;
- Prepare pitchbook presentations to clients, incorporating general market trends and client-specific loan product solutions, pricing and strategies and be in a position to present those pitches to clients;
- Prepare all relevant internal documents (syndication memos, underwriting notes etc) necessary for loan approvals at related committees – Engagement / Credit Committees and presentations to Risk Committee;
- Present to internal Risk Department (Early Engagement) on transactions under consideration for Originate-to-Share (OtS) process;
- Monitor existing and potential OtS transactions and Hold-To-Collect (HTC) / Hold-To-Collect-and-Sell (HTCS) exposures;
- Maintain and manage all documentation required to support relevant procedures required for compliance purposes;
- Facilitate collaboration with other desks / departments (GRMs, Structured Finance, Leverage team etc) in:
- Non-deal related marketing activity with issuers and investors alike
- Preparation of deal related pitches and marketing materials up to Syndication launch
- Review of legal documentation
- Enhance the cross-selling activity for the Bank through coordination with other product areas through the entire client relationship;
- Ensure that the Bank is positively represented in the Market when dealing with both clients and other market professional counterparts;
- Work in partnership with other Loan Capital Markets efforts across the global platform of Intesa
Required Experience
At least 7 years experience in the Loan Syndication market across a number of sectors, ranging from Corporate, Financial Institution, Structured Finance and Leverage in either origination, distribution or advisory capacity
Required Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge
- Minimum Bachelor Degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of commercial and investment banking products
- Strong sales and interpersonal skills and negotiating exposure
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, making active contributions to the team dynamic
- Demonstrated connectivity with established bank and non-bank loan investors
- A developed and developing network with peers at other major loan syndication banks and investor banks / institutionals
- Ability to build trusting working relationships, both internally and externally
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects
- Attention to detail and ability to 1) constructively review work of junior members of staff and 2) produce comprehensive detailed material to support senior members of the team
- Advanced computer skills, particularly across Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg / Reuters and main Loan Markets info platforms
- Excellent communication skills in English and a second language an advantage but not essential
- Clear written and oral communication skills
